The workflow

  1. Send the captures and the concept

    All source images, plus references, a mood board or a written brief, and the package that fits the idea.

  2. Build the scene

    The background is created or changed first, so the direction of the light is settled before the subject goes in.

  3. Blend, relight and shadow

    The subject and any other elements are blended in and relit to the scene, with contact shadows, cast shadows and reflections added.

  4. Grade and finish

    Retouching, one colour grade across the frame and effects where the package includes them, then high-resolution delivery.

Frequently asked

  • Which package do I need?

    Creative Essential for a background change with a grade and light retouching. Advanced Composite when up to three images need blending into one with a built background. Premium Visual Story for fantasy, campaign or editorial concepts with VFX and full manipulation.

  • What is the delivery time?

    Creative Essential has a 20-hour delivery time. Advanced Composite and Premium Visual Story each have 24 hours.

  • What do you need from me?

    Every source image at the highest resolution you have, and a reference, mood board or written description of the concept. Specific direction on light, mood and setting gives the build a clear target.

  • Should I choose this or Basic Creative Photo Editing?

    Basic Creative Photo Editing, at $16 per image, swaps the background using up to two images. Choose this service when the background has to be created, when three or more images are involved, or when the concept needs visual effects.
