The workflow

  1. Send high-resolution files

RAW or a high-resolution JPEG is recommended; TIFF and PSD are accepted too.

  2. Share the finish you want

A reference image shows the skin finish, colour tone and polish you are after more precisely than a written description.

  3. Frequency separation, then dodge and burn

Marks and uneven tone cleaned on separate layers, then light and shadow refined locally across the face.

  4. Hair, eyes, teeth and colour

Flyaways corrected, teeth whitened, eyes enhanced and small backdrop marks removed, then colour and tone polished.

  5. Check, deliver, revise

Each image is checked and delivered at high resolution. One revision is included if something needs another pass.

Frequently asked

  • What type of files should I upload?

High-resolution RAW, TIFF, PSD or JPEG. RAW or a high-resolution JPEG gives the best result.

  • Will the skin look completely smooth?

No. Spots, stray hairs and uneven tone are removed, and pores and natural texture are kept so the skin still looks real at full size.

  • Can I send reference images?

Yes. A reference is the clearest way to show the retouching style, colour tone and finish you want.

  • Is background cleanup included?

Minor cleanup is. Removing larger objects or reworking a complex background may need an add-on or a custom quote.

  • How many revisions are included?

One. Further revisions can be added if you need them.

  • How is this different from High-End Photo Retouching?

Beauty Retouching is one $5 package focused on the skin. High-End Photo Retouching has three packages, and its upper two add colour grading, clothing cleanup and, at Editorial / Campaign level, product refinement and creative polish.
