Project overview

Around the gown the room is plainly visible: the backdrop roll and its rail below the ceiling, the wall corner, stacked boxes and the floor either side of the paper. The dress and the pose are the picture; everything else is the studio it was taken in.

Transformation details

The room was replaced rather than retouched, because a wall corner and a ceiling rail cannot be cloned out of a frame this open without leaving a smear where the wall used to be.
Blossom branches were built into the upper corners, framing the head without touching it, with their focus matched to the capture so they sit behind the model.
The gown's own fabric was extended along the floor to give the dress a full sweep.
The grade holds deep green behind and warm skin in front, so the pink of the dress separates from both.
