Project overview

The capture is bright, saturated pink and lit from the front, with the model lying across a white box. The concept is dark and lit by the car's own red lamps, so almost none of the original tone can be carried over.

Transformation details

Almost none of the bright pink capture could carry over, so the background went to near-black first and every later decision was judged against that tone.
The car was placed at the angle of the pose, and the body was relit in red from the lamp positions so the light in the picture is the light on the model.
Smoke was built in layers with the nearest layer softest, giving depth without a blur filter.
Skin was rebalanced to take out the pink cast the backdrop had bounced into it.
