Project overview

Effects-heavy frames fail when the effect sits in front of the subject rather than around it. The capture is a clean, well-lit dance pose in a gold dress with nothing to hold or interact with, so every interaction had to be built.

Transformation details

A bow and arrow were fitted to the outstretched arm and the hand at the chest, turning the dance line into a draw.
Fire was built behind the figure and across the lower body, and the skin relit warm on the side facing the flames.
A zodiac ring was placed on its own plane behind the figure, at a slight angle so it sits in space rather than on the surface.
The gold dress was recoloured silver-blue, which sets it against the orange of the fire.
