Project overview

The hair is deliberately in motion, so it cannot be tidied into a helmet. The edit has to remove the strands that distract and keep the ones that carry the movement. The backdrop also has an uneven warm gradient.

Transformation details

Strands crossing the face and the neckline were removed one at a time; nothing was masked as a block, because a block mask takes the movement with it.
The backdrop was evened and cooled slightly, which lifts the edge of the hair away from it without touching the hair itself.
White balance was set on the skin first, then the cream fabric rebalanced separately so it did not turn pink.
A light skin pass removed marks and left the texture.
