Savanna Sunset Wildlife Composite
Creative composite
A seated pose shot against white is moved to a savanna at sunset, with a leopard added beside the model and the light turned from cool front to warm back.
- Golden hour
- Wildlife
- Relighting

Project overview
The studio frame is lit flat and cool from the front; the concept is backlit golden hour. That is not a colour adjustment. The light in the capture comes from the wrong place, and a warm grade alone would give an orange picture with studio lighting inside it.
Transformation details
The studio light came from the wrong place for a backlit sunset, so the background was built first and the sun's position fixed before anything else was decided.
The model was relit with a warm rim along the shoulder and the arm nearest the sun, and the original frontal light pulled down until it behaves like bounce rather than a key.
A leopard was placed at the same distance from camera and given the same rim, then one ground shadow was drawn under both so they share a plane.
Haze went in between the foreground and the tree line, which stops the composite looking like two sharp layers.
