Project overview

The capture is strong, but the backdrop is a flat warm wall that gives the frame no depth and no setting. The pose is doing all of the work.

Transformation details

A desert horizon was placed low so the figure keeps its height in the frame, and a night sky built above with its brightest area behind the shoulders.
The backdrop's warm cast was neutralised out of the skin before the cool grade went on, so the midtones did not turn green.
A resting camel was added at a distance that gives scale without becoming a second subject.
The drape was extended into the sand so the fabric meets the ground.
